hellomydearfriends
Before I explain the issue let me tell what laptop I'm using and where I got the image from: Laptop:Acer Extensa 5220 Image from:Techsviewer OK let me show the issue. So when I turned it on and booted, it showed the boot menu, so I selected my hackintosh install, and the activity light was flashing on a hdd, it got to the Apple logo but after few seconds the light stopped flashing which meant the installer froze. So I added a argument which is verbose mode, it did start flashing the light on the hdd, but then it stopped and as soon as it did, it came up with pluses and the cursor was like this: ++++++++++++++++++(I don't know how many pluses, because my eyesight can't see it.) _ So I google the issue but all I saw is: -Use this argument it might boot up (Some argument that doesn't work for my PC) So does anyone know what those pluses mean? Also you can look up the laptop model to see what specs there were, just keep in mind there's no fingerprint scanner. I tried with my other laptop from 2007, same result. It's not corrupted, I tried downloading again. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/323639-pluses-when-booting-to-sierra-installer/ Share on other sites

iWin32
Can you post a screenshot? If there are plus signs, it's likely not caused by an OS X, but an issue with Clover preventing from booting properly, but I want to be sure! Cyberdevs
make sure you have OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi installed when you install clover. if you still get the error you might need to use OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi Post your EFI folder to see what's what Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/323639-pluses-when-booting-to-sierra-installer/#findComment-2423198 Share on other sites

Cyberdevs
Does the plusses add to themselves? Are you using the roper version of Clover for your BIOS? I assume your laptop doesn't have an UEFI bios, so if that's the case you have to use Legacy version. Post your EFI folder. I dont know how to ".app" installers work but i think this is what your asking me for. http://i.imgur.com/0UjDglV.png Does the plusses add to themselves? Well this Acer doesn't use 64bit, but the CPU is the only part that is 64-bit, the RAM is 2gb maximum, but i tried Yosemite on 2gb RAM on my other laptop, and it ran fine. That won't be a issue, heres the EFI: http://i.imgur.com/0UjDglV.png and http://i.imgur.com/TlncZcb.jpg If you can't find the video of the MacOS install guide, here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5DUgIfmuPU Right now im going to use this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q26wbRS6BU4 and then upgrade to Sierra Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/323639-pluses-when-booting-to-sierra-installer/#findComment-2423252 Share on other sites
Cyberdevs
Your processor can run 64-Bit Operating Systems. you need at least 2GB of memory to run macOS sierra. for making the proper bootable USB you need to have access to a real mac or a working hackintosh. you can also use vmware to create the bootable disk, however there are some ways to create bootable USB from windows that might be useful for you. google how to create macOS bootable disk with windows. but for installing clover and adding proper settings you'll need macOS. if you're lucky you can find someone with the same laptop and you can only copy his/her clover folder inside the EFI partition of your bootable disk.
