alain57
Hi all, since nvidia just released a pascal driver (and after loosing nearly 3 hours of my time making that damn driver work on my system) I only have one issue that still disturb me : The sound volume On windows if I turn my speakers to maximum, well this is really loud... that even neigbours could hear it ^^ On Hackintosh, when I turn my spearks to maximum it is like 10 times less loud... i would say it is like almost minimum sound on Windows. how can I fix this ? I did so many audio stuff that maybe I did something wrong. (not working at first, then wrong jack port...) It always was very weak sound, even when comming from other port... is there a trick, for example editing the VoodooHDA.kext's info.plist to boost the volume or to enable outpout gain ? I mean it is like there was no sound output gain ... like i said turning speaker's volume to maximum is not what I want. Because I don't want to make some hardware changes when I change OS ^^ Of course is something is needed like a clover config file or some information I'll try my best to give answers. Thanks in advance for your help. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/322740-msi-z170a-gaming-m3-very-low-sound/ Share on other sites

alain57
thanks I 'll have a look at this I already did VoodooHDAEnableHalfVolumeFix this had improved a bit the volume but it is still too low (before doing this the audio was juste audible.. now it is acceptable but still too low for max speaker volume) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/322740-msi-z170a-gaming-m3-very-low-sound/#findComment-2402996 Share on other sites

alain57
I managed to fix it. indeed it was an error because I followed too many tutorials the solution was simple : i removed all the voodoohda stuf and i installed a build kext with the help of pikeralphaALC-command tool I rebooted and now I have fully working sound with high volume 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/322740-msi-z170a-gaming-m3-very-low-sound/#findComment-2403581 Share on other sites
