consolation
Has anybody managed to get a version of 10.4.8 with one of the new kernels to detect their PCI cards? My firewire PCI is not being detected despite a FW bus showing up in profiler, it worked fine under 10.4.6. Additionally no PCI cards are being detected at all, much less work. There is only one message in the profiler "This computer does not appear to have any PCI cards installed." This is with cards that previously worked. I tried the first Jas release that installed and run fine, I tried going back to 10.4.6 then updating via apple update + kernel - nothing seems to work. Any ideas? I'm getting a bit exasperated with booting into windows to get at my external drives & video camera.... TIA P.S. system log shows FW activating, Card supplies power - just that osX seems to have developed a PCI blind spot... Cliffton Beach
I've got a PCI soundcard working fine. Nothing shows up under PCI in System Profiler, but I haven't applied any of the fixes suggested for System Profiler borkage (using jas 10.4.8 original). zam
I have both a network card (realtek) and a firewire card (via) working with mifki's kernel on Asrock Conroe945G-DVI... I have done nothing special, just upgraded with apples 10.4.8 combo and put older SMBIOS and mifkis kernel in.
