davidm71
Hi, Recently was having problems with the app store and upgrading to Sierra. Read a few guides and it turned out one of the reasons was my serial number was blacklisted on the Apple support site. So according to the guide you have run either chameleon wizard or clover configurator to randomly generate a new one which I did but Apple's support site rejected each one. So possibly Apple has figured out the algorithms these apps use to generate serial numbers? In anycase I finally found one that works somewhere but was just wondering if I use a serial number that may match some other system wouldn't that cause issues with imessage and icloud mixing up who is who? Also was wondering about how safe is that and do you guys just turn those features off anyhow? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/321734-where-to-find-valid-serial-number/ Share on other sites
davidm71
Well all the Clover guides I found said to use Clover Configurator and verify the random serial number on the Apple Support Site which implies that Apple can blacklist a code and also stop you from running updates. Also said to use even google or eBay to find one off of a dead system. So I'm a little confused on what's the proper way to do it. Thanks. davidm71
Yeah the author a couple 'Guides' recommended taking a serial from an Apple Store or the internet. I almost did then realized how wrong that is but honestly its a shade of gray anyhow.. Thanks Try following my guide, if you still have problems, let me know: Guide for iMessage/Facetime Make sure your iPhone supports text message forwarding (should include a list with your "hackintosh" device). If it isn't in the list, iMessage will be broken.
