gazza35
Hey guys, so, got 10.12 installed and clover UEFI and everything seems to be working now, fixed the Display issues, power etc etc etc, just 1 issue left that i cant figure out and i cant find any similar posts. When i turn on pc, all is fine, Bios screen and everything is perfect, gets to Sierra, no probs, the issue starts when i hit reboot, Upon throttling down and restarting, as soon as the screen comes back on to display the bios post details, the screen is usually either Yello, Pink or Green, and stays that colour, blocking almost all visibility to icons, writing etc etc, to solve it, i have to shut down all together, then power on again,. Now it doesnt happen when i boot with Windows 10, so im figuring it must be a problem with the Geforce kexts or something. Granted its not major, but ya know how it is, no point having a system installed if its only 99%. Never happened on El Capitan, its just since installing Sierra, does it on 10.12 and 10.12.1. Can anyone shed any light on what the cause could be?. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317793-sierra-weird-reboot-issue/ Share on other sites

gazza35
try clover: new way + fix regions Thanks for the reply, Unfortunatley this breaks my boot altogether, When i restart the monitor turns off, but pc stays on and restart has to be forced via button on the tower, so no further forward, im very suprised nobody else has posted a similar topic anywhere, am i the only one, lol. gazza35
Ok so i looked and no, it isnt unlocked, but im not comfortable with whats involved, editing the bios etc, lot of hassle, and im 100% that this isnt whats causing this bug, im pretty sure its something to do with Clover and my Geforce, and ive just used inject Nvidia, i think thats the issue, but, i dont know, thnx anyway, i may just switch back to Enoch, at least it all works with that. chriz74
put kernel pm flag in clover if you have haswell: https://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/KernelAndKextPatches#kernelandkextpatches_kernelpm or asus pm if you are on sandy/ivy bridge https://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/KernelAndKextPatches#kernelandkextpatches_asusaicpupm are you using nullcpupower management? Anyway I don't think this is related to powermanagement, maybe rtc. Are you using that applertc patch? https://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/KernelAndKextPatches#kernelandkextpatches_applertc Also, did you prepare your dsdt / ssdt ? 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317793-sierra-weird-reboot-issue/#findComment-2318736 Share on other sites
gazza35
Thankyou yes im I5, sandybridge, No i dont use the Nullcpu kext, i have not got a dsdt or ssdt either, i grabbed them from clover with f4, but failed in compiling with errors so i gave up on that, and no i dont think the asus pm is ticked, tho in my config plist there is reference on the first page to Dmar and ssdt in the drop tables, i dont know if this is right as someone else did it for me. chriz74
you better create your dsdt, google [Guide] Patching LAPTOP DSDT/SSDTs rehabman. --- anyway post your acpi tables as zip on dropbox and add a link here. And your config.plist too. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317793-sierra-weird-reboot-issue/#findComment-2318757 Share on other sites

There are two DSDTs, DSDT.AML and DSDT-0.AML .. what's the difference? Did you touch any of those? P.S. what computer is this? List hardware (lspci in linux). https://www.dropbox.com/s/ucbstv2nbvtjpmh/DSDT%20ORIG.zip?dl=0 This is the link to the zip containing my DSDT files and config plist. try these files, put dsdt and ssdts in acpi patched, use the config.plist in the zip. Download fakepciid / xhcimux from rehabman and put them in kexts (in clover). https://www.dropbox.com/s/20d86jw7z7vgcp4/msipatc.zip?dl=0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317793-sierra-weird-reboot-issue/#findComment-2319368 Share on other sites

And replace the config.plist with the one I sent. If you really want a working machine unlock the bios MSR with uefipatch.
