kevink_consistent
Hi All; I have a macbook pro running OSX 10.11.14 (El Capitan). I want to convert it to a VM to run on my Linux host (vnware workstation). In the past I've succeeded in installing vmware fusion on the mac and choosing an option to create a vm from the running host. That option seems to have dissappeared. Can anyone advise on how to accomplish this now? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317598-convert-a-running-macbook-el-capitan-to-a-vm/ Share on other sites

You can find Disk Utility app inside Applications folder under Utilities. Disk utility will create a dmg file which could be converted to vmdk for using in VMWare by virtualbox which is a free software google it and you'll find it easily. Good luck.
