jbond
Hi , Wondering if it would be possible to put a T5XXX Core 2 Duo Merom in a Mac Book, since they are pin compatible both socket M. I am considering buying a MacBook - Would love to buy a MacBook Pro (but cant justify spending 2.5K when I can get a Mac Pro for the same amount). Plus I like the smaller form factor. If I did buy the MacBook now, would I be able to upgrade the CPU to Merom or is the CPU soldered on the board. I have seen some Mac Mini upgrade to high processor speed. Thanks
Bartboy919
no, the CPU is soldered to board to save space. and taking apart the macbook is a pain in the ass. besides the merom chips aren't that much faster.
