  1. So does the DW 1510 have Bluetooth or not? I have a Dell DW1510 in the WWAN slot, and the stock Wireless G in the WLAN slot, but I don't have BT? Does the card need to be in the WLAN slot for BT to work? Regards, So this changes an ION LE to ION? How can I do this with my HP MINI?
  2. Thanks Proto, Figured it must be something to that effect. I hope you replace your HP Mini Soon. I hate when stuff like that happens. And yes it happens to all of us, me included. Regards,
  3. Hi Guys, Is there an issue with the NVDANV50HAL.kext taking a long time to load. Every thing loads fine till it says waiting for DSMOS...then it takes almost 20 - 30 seconds and it loads the NVDANV50HAL.kext ...and then continues to load ( other than the audio insertion issues. ). Am I the only one who is seeing this? Regards,
  4. Greetings all, First time poster on this thread, long time hackintosher. I would like to thank you all for all the hard work and sleepless nights that have gone in to get this thing going. Great work guys. I got a stock HP 311 1000NR on the day that Bing had a $100 of coupon for a total of $300 + tax. Got a 2 GB stick from Newegg, and now have a DW1510 for wireless. So for around $400 I now have a stable working hack - which is amazing. From what I understand, we are close to getting the Bios hacked and Whitelist removed? In that case one can use a card like Dell DW1510 on the WLAN slot and not need to worry about uFL extensions, which would be great. I also read some posts earlier that some people were trying to use the stock leopard kexts in snow to get the stock WLAN going - Can anyone confirm this? I know this is not very kosher, but if true, maybe something to post on the 1st page, or do some analysis how and why that works vs stock snow kext. (Maybe some hex edits needed on snow??) Anyhow - Just wanted to thank you guys for all the hard work that went into getting this to this point. For a few days there I thought I had made a mistake in getting the 311, but clearly you guys came through in the end. ( i did have a lingering feeling this would happen, as it has in so many cases before the 311). Regards,
  5. 10.4.10 Upgrade Sucessful

Hi Guys..so updated to 10.4.10 ..with new kernel and new r3d3. Also had to put in the new AppleSMBIOS.kext otherwise I was stuck with blue screen with mouse. ( I have never had to put a AppleSMBIOS.kext since I installed from JaS 10.4.6 ). So Everything is working with the new kext except I had to back out into 10.4.9 version of the AppleIntelEthernet854x. This was the only kext that they updated in IONetworkingFamily.kext and it does not seem to work on my system. The 10.4.9 version worked without a problem, and is currently what I am using, however, the new kext loads except it cannot detect the speed and the link on the line. Just curious to find out if anyone else had this issue with the AppleIntelEthernet after the new update. Thanks
  6. I have seen some reports suggesting that that MacBooks seem to run faster and snapier than the MacBook Pros. Yesterday I went to my local Apple Store and it seemed to be the case, if not faster, the MacBook was just as fast. Is this true or is it just my imagination. Given that money is not an issue, just want to get a laptop thats fast and will last me a couple of years. I am considering either: 1. MacBook - 2.0 Ghz C2D 2 GB RAM (White) Upgrade HDD to 7200 RPM 2. MacBookPro - 2.33 Ghz C2D 2 GB RAM Upgrade HDD to 7200 RPM Technically it should be a no brainer. The MacBook Pro should kick ass, but for some reason I'm not seeing the snapiness that aught to be there for the MBP. Maybe Its because of the tons of {censored} they have running on the MBP at the apple store. Also I guess the MBP should be much faster while using Aperture / Games etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  7. Hi , Wondering if it would be possible to put a T5XXX Core 2 Duo Merom in a Mac Book, since they are pin compatible both socket M. I am considering buying a MacBook - Would love to buy a MacBook Pro (but cant justify spending 2.5K when I can get a Mac Pro for the same amount). Plus I like the smaller form factor. If I did buy the MacBook now, would I be able to upgrade the CPU to Merom or is the CPU soldered on the board. I have seen some Mac Mini upgrade to high processor speed. Thanks
  8. ADD2 card supporting 1920x1200 GMA950

I used to have the ADD2 card on my system before going to x1600xt. It worked perfectly with my Apple Cinema Dispay 23" (white) with ADC -> dvi converter
  9. FSB frequency autodetection

Sleep working with Vitality 8.8.1 and Asus X1600xt silent.

UPDATE - This should interest some of you folks. I took the HDD out of the test machine and put it into my hackintosh (sig), and the machine works flawlessly on first boot. Even About this Mac started working on the hackintosh, which was not working on the test machine. Also the Hardware overview works fine. This experiment leads me to believe that on the same HDD diff mobo have different results. I cannot explain why the About this mac works on one machine (same physical hdd) and not on the other. I think it may have to do with the EFI environment thereoff. My test machine (Asus P5WD2 Premium) has no EFI and a plain BIOS. The hackbox has a EFI based BIOS (Intel 945 GTPLKR). The hackbox can see the RAM FSB as 667 where as the Asus reports Unknown for RAM FSB. My guess is that the hackbox is able to retrieve information from the EFI environment somehow, but when I swap the HDD to the ASUS, it is unable to do that for the ASUS BIOS which is not EFI based. I hope this helps you coding gurus to figure out something that may help us with another big cat coming our way.
  11. nothing interesting here

Ok folks, now that I got my test machine working perfectly with 10.4.8 (vitality kernel). I went on to try and update my main hackintosh box (which is on my sig.) I installed the Combo 10.4.8, then I copied the new vitality kernel (one with fsb), and SMBios.kext into its proper location, fixed diskpermissions. and reboot. No problems getting into singleuser (-s) mode. did update_prebinding -root / -force. Worked fine. Then I reboot. Now I have a problem where coreserviced is crashing and respawning? It goes into GUI with blue screen and mouse, then it goes back to black screen with message about coreserviced crashing. Can anyone help figuring this out - what gives?
  12. nothing interesting here

I get a kernel panic if I do update_prebinding -root / -force, in GUI as well as single user mode with Vitality kernel Can anyone help? EDIT: New Kernel Fixed Issue.
  13. nothing interesting here

Thank you guys for making life worthwhile. I have updated a test machine which had 10.4.8 JAS on it. I downloaded the combo update from apple. installed, then replaced with 10.4.8 kernel and SMBios.kext. It boots up fine without complaints. I notice that it does not load r*d*.kext and launching msoffice crashes the system. About this mac forces a window server reload. xbench scores are a bit lower than what they were before. I thought rosetta was working and much faster on 10.4.8 System specs Asus P5WD2 Premium Pentium D 840 2 GB DDR2-800 ram HIS x1600xt dual dvi 250 GB SATA II NCQ
  14. Guys I have a HIS ICEQ x1600XT 256 and it worked without a problem with borisdev. This is a Dual DVI card and both DVI outputs work, but only one at a time.
  15. I think we need to get EFI running ASAP. 10.5 is most definitely going to be a {censored} without it.
