Trying my very first install using JAS Install DVD 10.4.6 on a Dell D500m with Intel 855GM video. Can't seem to even get through the installation because the screen is monochrome and the graphics are not very good. I can barely make out the menu along the top (Installer, File, Edit, Utilities, ...).

I've been reading some posts about changing video memory in the BIOS from 1 MB to 8 MB but I don't have this option.

Does anybody have any suggestions for me? Thanks in advance.

Did you get the BIOS update from Dell? Before posting, I updated my BIOS from A02 to A08 (the latest BIOS revision on Dell's site for the 500m) but I don't see any new BIOS options for video memory, nor do I see any difference when trying to install.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.
