Shredplayer
i was wonderin what to use when im done downloading 10.4.8, AFAIK semthex kernel works with NX/HPET or w/ NO NX/HPET but if my mobo and processor supports NX/HPET it will be logical to use mifki kernel... im at lost if my system is HPET ready , NX has a settings in my BIOS so i think it's supported.. any ideas? there's my system down there...... TopazBar
I would try both. Run the one that gives you most performance. In the end, you may not have choice because kernels are very picky about mobo. You will be basically running crippled Apple's kernel with EFI and Encryption disabled. So naturally, the more compatible your mobo is to real mac, the more likely you will succeed. i was wonderin what to use when im done downloading 10.4.8, AFAIK semthex kernel works with NX/HPET or w/ NO NX/HPET but if my mobo and processor supports NX/HPET it will be logical to use mifki kernel... im at lost if my system is HPET ready , NX has a settings in my BIOS so i think it's supported.. any ideas? there's my system down there...... VacTacks11
My mb supports HPET (and I'm running a T6400, so it supports NX). From what I understand I'm going to install the mifki kernel. Shredplayer
it seems that intel 915G based on intel technical sheets HPET is in IO chipset(im not sure if it's enabled by default or when OS request it).. i'll probably test mifki kernel first.. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/31680-mifki-kernel-or-semthex/#findComment-220922 Share on other sites
