Donw35
Hey guys, still putting the last touches on my Sierra setup, I noticed that when I run Heaven benchmark my CPU frequencies do not change. Any ideas, System is a Gigabyte X58 USB3 with i7-950 CPU Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/316596-cpu-frequencies-not-changing/ Share on other sites
Donw35
Or is this app, HWMonitor not displaying the correct frequencies, in that case I am ok with it. or does the i7 950 Bloomfield not step up in OS X and not supported ? Anyone Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/316596-cpu-frequencies-not-changing/#findComment-2295868 Share on other sites
Swiftoholic
Hey! I've got an x58 board with an i7 920@3,6 GHz. Mine is speedstepping. But just from min to max nothing between. Which SMBios are you using. Mine is a MacPro 5.1 works great except the speedstepping. Oh yeah before I forget. It can happen that the speedstepping is not correct displayed in HWMonitor. There is an tool around from Intel which should be more precise. But don't know the name right now. Donw35
SO the reason I think the system is not working at full speed is that I tested it with a 1.2gb 4k file from my DJI Phantom 3 Professional. I installed Windows 10 on and different drive and the video played without a glitch, when booted in OS X the video is very glitchy. I then tested the same 4k video file on a 2015 Mac Mini on a 4K display and it worked great. Could be video drivers suck for OS X ?. CPU not giving it's all when displaying 4K. ? I have some hew hardware on the way, I will report back..
