velayo
I just upgraded my Ati 9550 to a 9600 xt by flashing the bios. The card works fine it gets detected by default with QE/CI at 1024x768. Native resoluction for my monitor is 1280x1024. Trying to get the ability to change resolutions, I installed Callisto an it works fine, I can change resolutions, my card is detected perfectly and the monitor too. The only problem is that I loose QE/CI when using callisto. I tried Callisto's v8 and v3. I have searched the whole site to no avail In the wiki someone posted that it works with Callisto v8 and QE/CI with a little trick. What is that trick?? I tried Koverg's patch, replacing framebuffer for CallistoFB, repairing permissions and different versions of Callisto with no luck. Please help me recover QE/CI!!! Thanks, Velayo
Wisam
Callisto is dead and Omin disbanded the project. I want to help you but I don't know how.

Rammjet
Perhaps these 2 threads can help: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=26989 http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=22083
velayo
Rammjet, thanks. The second link talks about using 10.4.4 kexts for the 9600. That's one thing I haven't tried yet. I will give it a try. I had read the first post before but it doesn't provide any new info. I don't know why but the second article didn't appear on any of my site searches. There is something wrong with the site's search engine. Thanks!!!

velayo
Well I feel kind of stupid. I will read your post and try to learn. I hate asking questions but sometimes there is no other choice. Thanks again.
phoenix3200
This thread should also contain enough information to make your 9550 work.
