apple32 Posted July 24, 2016 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Hello, I have connected through displayport a GTX 670 and the Dell P2715Q which supports 10bit color depth "mode". Under system profiler, it shows me that I get only 8bit color depth while I have seen other people (especially with maxwell GPUs) achieving 10bit color depth ( argb2101010 under system profiler ) with the same display as me. My build is identified as iMac12,2 and it is running OS X 10.11.6. Can anyone explain to me how to enable 10 bit color depth mode? delish Posted September 9, 2016 Share Posted September 9, 2016 My experience with 10-bit on nvidia consumer card is that it does not work reliably. You might get it working on a few reboots, but the only way I got it to work on my 980ti was after a amd 7950 had been plugged in that same slot on the previous boot. It only worked a few reboots, after wards no matter what I try, it will not work. EDIT Update: The app SwitchRes allows you to turn on 10-bit (select Billion of colors) with a nvidia card. This worked for my 980ti on Sierra with latest web drivers.
