DS-1
Hi guys!I upgraded my hackintosh hdd from a 500gb to a 1tb Seagate. I used Clonezilla to clone all the disk. Unfortunately, I haven't considered that the new main partition in the 1tb hdd would be 500gb. Now I have 500gb of unpartitioned free space on the disk and I would like to merge it into the main Macintosh HD 500gb main partition and I don't know how to do it. I remember that I could do it with Yosemite DiskUtil, but with the new cake-style El Capitan utility I just can't do that. Can anyone please help me in understanding if it's possible to merge the two partition with El Capitan? Thanks in advance for the reply! fusion71au
@DS-1, You can still use the old DU from Yosemite patched to run on El Capitan . Alternatively, you can learn to use the command line to merge partitions. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/311017-increase-macintosh-hd-partition-size-a-pain-with-el-capitan/#findComment-2217201 Share on other sites

It worked and now I have a 1TB Macintosh HD partition on the new hard drive! Thanks again!!! 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/311017-increase-macintosh-hd-partition-size-a-pain-with-el-capitan/#findComment-2217265 Share on other sites
