Selfmade version of Cogx - Audio/Video-player

Hello,

 

I was looking for a Foobar2000 like application on OS X and only found CogX looking like Foobar2000 a bit.

 

I downloaded the source of Cog and developed it further with the following features:

 

- video playback using VLCKit

- option to insert 1 AU FX Unit on the audio playback

- a levelmeter with pre/post function

- volume meter in dB not % and not max 400 but 100 as the original Cog had.

- a waveform display of the audio playback using EZAudio Framework

- differen look than the original

- artwork & info in the left bottom of window (collapsable)

- upgraded CoreAudio output & device routines from deprecated to the newer routines. (old ones were 10.5+)

- stereo /mono option

- upgraded other deprecated routines to newer ones.

 

Here is the best version but it's for OS X 10.11 only, so don't bother with OS X < 10.11 :

~ 32 mb zipfile , unzip & drag Cog to Applications. Do some configuration in the Preferences menu.

 

Here is a 10.6+ version but fullscreen does not work for weird reasons and wave form display was removed due to incompatibility with EZAudio Framework.

For me the purpose was to learn Xcode and to have a nice mediaplayer for OS X. Hope you like it. It was days of work.
