Hello Friends!

Here comes a step by step guide how to make an Intel NUC  100% Vanilla with the help of Ozmosis. This guide will cover the 1st and 2nd generation of Intel NUC (Ivy Bridge and Haswell) as I have successfully tested it on these machines, but it might work on newer NUCs as well although I have not tested it!

I was often asked to write a tutorial and as I am quite busy, to make this guide possible,  i will split this guide in general steps and publish one step at time. So here we go...

nuc-kit-d34010wykh-10509964-front-angle-

1: Extracting and flashing the ROM file with an SPI programmer and clips

2: Preparing the BIOS: Unlocking the MSR 0xE2 and making space for Ozmosis and kexts

3: Injecting Ozmosis and kexts with the help of OZMTool

4: Extracting, patching and injecting DSDT and SSDTs using UEFITool, OZMTool and MaciASL

5: Configuring Ozmosis by editing the OzmosisDefaults.plist

6: Setting up UEFI for UEFI only boot, compatibility and speed

7: Installation of OS X 10.8-10.11 and post installation + tweaking

Edit: Due to some difficult events in my life and the lack of time and energy, i will not be able to write this guide (for now and probably not in the future). Sorry for making you waiting so long.

I am joining the modified ozmosis bios for the i5-4250U NUC (D54250WYKH or D54250WYK) for who wants to flash their NUC and give it a try. It is Sierra ready and works out of the box.

If you want to make it work for the i3-4010U NUC, you'll need to edit the DSDT and put the right CPU definitions for that CPU.

Please extract the OzmosisDefaults.plist from the OzmosisDefaults.ffs (extract the body from the RAW section with UEFI tool) and change the BaseBoard Serial, SystemSerial, ROM and SystemSKU in order to have unique IDs, than replace it back with your modified OzmosisDefaults.plist (still with UEFI tool)

Use the AUDIO.command script from post-install archive in order to enable on-board ALC audio codec (be sure to be connected to internet)

Use the TRIM_disksleep_gatekeeper  from post-install archive to enter manually the 3 command lines to enable disksleep (set to 5 min) for the HDD, to disable gatekeeper for sandboxing and to enable TRIM for the SSD

Install the kexts from the wifi+bt.zip in order to enable Wifi and Bluetooth with a BCM94352HMB/AzureWave AW-CE123H half-size miniPCI express card

Atheros Wifi cards as AR9287, AR9285 and AR9280 and AR9380 should work natively (DSDT injection for AR9287, AR9285 and BCM94352 HMB/AzureWave AW-CE123H + BCM943225 HMB/AzureWave AW-NB290H is already inside the dsdt)

Mausi's Realtek Ethernet kext aswell as DSDT edits is already inside the BIOS

Enjoy! this is my contribution to the insanelymac community, i am thankfull for all the work that have been done yet by all the community members which made it possible to happen
