I just reinstalled JaS 10.4.7 from scratch and tried to burn first CD today.. CD-R in this case..

I have a dual boot box (XP Pro & OS X86) the CD/DVD drive works fine in XP.. but will not work in OS X.

I added a few folders to a new "Burn Folder" and click "Burn" but it comes up and says insert blank disc.. also the drive is locked, cannot manually eject the disc from drive..

Any ideas?

Here is my system:

Asus P5LD2-VM

Intel Celeron D (336) 2.80 GHz

Corsair VS1GBKIT533D2 1GB Kit DDR2-533 PC2-4200 Value Select

Western Digital 250 GB SATA II

Pioneer DVR-111 dual layer DVD burner

The drive appears correct when I check the Profiler.. correct drive/model and burning capabilites

ANy help appreciated!

You can't do that in Mac OS. The OS doesn't let you. Instead, just drag the disk to the trash icon on the dock, or right-click>eject (in case you don't know.)

If every attempt to burn a disk in finder fails, just use Roxio Toast. :D

An unburned CD won't appear on the Desktop. To eject it, you need to do it from Disk Utility or hold down F12.
