  • For this guide you will need the Clover Bootloader. Download it here. Setup instructions here.
  • Please note that copying (cloning) MLB and ROM will cause in a suspension of your Apple ID.
  • MLB and ROM generation is rarely explained in chapter three.
  • You will need to have your Ethernets BSD name set to en0 (BSD_en0.png).
    • If it is not :

      • $ cd /Library|Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
      • $ sudo rm -rf NetworkInterfaces.plist
      • $ sudo rm -rf preferences.plist
      • $ sudo reboot
      • Make sure you boot without caches

  • Remember! Never share your MLB / ROM / S/N or your Apple ID will get blacklisted!
  • If you can not log in into your iMessage after you followed chapter 2 & 3 watch below.

  • In order to use iMessage you have to reset the crucial data in order to have a clean & working iMessage.
    • First of all log out from all the Apple services (eg. iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime ...).
    • cd /Users/~username/Library/Caches/
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.iCloudHelper*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.Messages*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.imfoundation.IMRemoteURLConnectionAgent*

      cd /Users/~username/Library/Preferences/
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.iChat.*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.icloud.*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.imagent.*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.imessage.*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.imservice.*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.ids.service*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.identityserviced*
      sudo rm -rf com.apple.security.*
  • Proceed to chapter 3.

  • You will have to make sure you use the nearest to your hardware SMBIOS.
    • Download and install Clover Configurator from here.
    • Open up your config.plist.
    • Generate a SMBIOS inside the SMBios tab of CC (hadahdkhdj.png).
    • Choose your corresponding SMBios from the list and hit the both shake buttons multiple times.
    • After you have done the steps you should have an output like this.
    • Check your serial against the apple s/n servers to be not known to apple. It should look like this ... not like this or this.
    • If your serial is not like it should be generate a new one till you get it correctly.
    • Save your configuration "File > Save".
    • Run the "uuidgen" command inside the terminal about ten times. Copy the last output and copy it.
    • Paste the copied content into the SmUUID of your Clover Configurator's page. Should look like this.
    • Save your configuration "File > Save".
    • Now you will have to generate your ROM and MLB.
    • The ROM is the last section of your SmUUID (D24C7141-FE2E-44F0-8FB1-CE21719AC12B).
    • Enter it into the Rt Variables tab of CC (jhakjdhkahdkahdkads.png) like here.
    • Save your configuration "File > Save".
    • The MLB is covered detailed here. Follow the guide exactly.
    • Enter it into the Rt Variables tab of CC (jhakjdhkahdkahdkads.png) like here.
    • Save your configuration "File > Save".
    • Reboot your device and boot without caches (In Clover press "space" and boot w/a caches).
  • Proceed to chapter 4.

  • If you can not log in into iMessage or Facetime contact the apple support. The guidelines are below
    • Tell them that you have bought your device off eBay or somewhere.
    • They will ask you multiple times if you told them the s/n correctly. Be polite and answer all questions.
    • They will apologize for their system error and will add your s/n to their library.
    • If they ask you for a production date use this tool to have it ready baken.
    • You will need it to set up your Hackintosh inside your Apple ID.

Hej Codinger,

I have a question regarding your Set Up Guide:

After having created a correct Serial Number and generated an SmUUID (is that even need if I have "Inject System ID" set?), can't I just use the Calculate button from "Clover Configurator" or "Pandora's Box" to get the right ROM and MLB values?

All the best and thank you in advance.

Hi Guys.

This method is still valid ???
I'm two hours clicking the buttons "shake" but not with a valid serial.
Always the following message appears:
"We're sorry, but this serial number is not valid. Please check your information and try again."

I'm not sure if this method is still valid or not. Can you help me ?

"We're sorry, but this serial number is not valid. Please check your information and try again." - This is the exact response you want as it means the s/n is not in Apple's data base as one of their's and will not cause a conflict with a genuine Mac with the same s/n. Hope this helps.

Strange, because the tutorial, says that needs to receive the following message "We're sorry, the number you have provided can not be found in our records. Please veridy the number and try again, or contact us"
not

"We're sorry, but this serial number is not valid. Please check your information and try again." or "Your service and support coverage".

And now ? What is the correct message I should receive?

Apple changed the message on the website some months ago - the meaning is still the same.

If I can offer one more piece of advice, please reframe from cloning any of the values from a genuine Mac as advised in the iMessage Fix tutorial, unless the Mac board is damaged, will never connect to any Apple Services and owned by you as this can cause serious repercussions (I am sure that is what chriz74 meant in his post). Just read and follow the tutorial and you should be ok. Good luck.
