Hi all, I've recently installed on my Dell Inspiron 640m OSx86. It work, I've installed Office for Mac, as well as iLife 06 on it. However, I still cannot get my internet to work, or my sound to work. I've read many posts, but to no avail. I need easy step by step instructions on what I need to do. For reference my user name in OSx86 is 'mattskujins'. I don't know much about my computer, but I know that I have the following:

Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem

Integrated Sound Blaster® Audigy® ADVANCED HD Audio

Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps)

I do not know if that helps. I want sound and internet. Sound is my priority. If anyone can help I would be grateful.

your audigy won't work, nor will the intel wifi.. no drivers exist at present. you don't specify what your wired ethernet chipset is, so there may be hope for that.

There are posts elsewhere regarding sound cards, I would second the suggestion that you get a usb sound "gizmo" - get a cheap one or a good one, according to your needs & ambitions.

Also don't forget to check out wiki.osx86project.org for hardware compatibility

Good Luck.

For notebook, if no patch file for it and u not know how to edit...

I only suggest u to buy USB sound as Creative external USB---u no need to do more, just plug and work.

Kelvin;

Which model SB ext. works with OSX86? There are quite a few different models, even a fancy one with surround & remote :huh: sorry answered my own q's easily on this forum with other posts:

Soundblaster Live 24 bit external seems to be the best, cheap solution. Any one else have a good USB sound device that works?
