Derek12
I update to the new beta release (update from app store) and now sometimes, more or less 1 out of 3 boots, the screen turns off after the apple logo and: The computer doesn't hang, the HDD light flashes sometimes. Caps lock key works. VNC viewer from another computer won't connect (This OS X has VNC server installed and working) I can't login in or shut down the computer blindy by following the correct key pressing. Sound doesn't work. When it decides to boot properly, it will work fine without any hiccups. Any help will be appreciated Ed: This is the sequence of events of a failed boot 29/9/15 13:51:52,598 com.apple.SecurityServer[75]: reader MSI StarReader SMART: state changed 0 -> 18 29/9/15 13:52:06,000 kernel[0]: **** [iOBluetoothFamily][searchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] -- Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport! 29/9/15 13:52:08,484 networkd[187]: BUG in libdispatch: 15B17c - 1631 - 0x0 29/9/15 13:52:08,485 configd[49]: BUG in libdispatch: 15B17c - 1631 - 0x0 29/9/15 13:52:23,263 com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.apple.appkit.xpc.sandboxedServiceRunner) The JoinExistingSession key is only available to Application services. 29/9/15 13:52:23,292 com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.apple.FileSyncAgent.PHD.isRunning) The HideUntilCheckIn property is an architectural performance issue. HBP
don't know much about the new boot process, but looks like you may need to "touch" /System/Library/Extensions to get it to hold... that and look at your launchctl to see what is trying to (load without kernel permission) before start. HBP Thank you. S/L/E isn't modified, I use Clover to inject kexts, only Fakesmc, voodooHDA and AtherosL1cEthernet and none was removed from S/L/E. I don't know where I have to "touch" I understand now you mean the command touch I run it without any message, I will reboot multiple times and see if it fails I hate intermitent failures lol. Derek12
OK I run the command sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions and sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions rebooted a 6/7 times and all were successful. Hope it's now fixed Edit: Not fixed, happened again after another reboot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/308255-after-updating-to-new-beta-sometimes-doesnt-boot/#findComment-2171307 Share on other sites
