Do I need to flash my "Windows" video card with a "Mac" firmware so it can work with hackintosh/mac?

I was searching eBay for a video card and I came across flashing services to make recent ATI/AMD video cards work with mac. Is this really needed? If yes, where can I get such firmware? thanks

Some videocards have a switch PC/Mac that means switch BIOS UEFI-2.0/EFI-1.0 because real Mac have older EFI definitions.

For hackintosh you have to set the switch to PC or just don't use Mac cards because Clover creates UEFI-2.40.
