RF64
Hi Everyone. I have been successfully using Chameleon to boot Snow Leopard (10.6.8) and would like to "upgrade" to Yosemite using Clover. I have been trying to study up on Clover and so far have only gotten confused. I have not been able to find any info of successful installs using the P55A-UD3 board with Clover and Yosemite in all of my searches. So before I try to spend a lot of time with Clover for this setup, I would like to ask if anyone has any experience/knowledge with the following... 1) Are there any successful installations using this motherboard (or similar) with Clover and Yosemite? 2) If so, can you share the installation and settings for Clover? Full disclosure: I did try several attempts at making a bootable USB drive with Clover and Yosemite. I have tried several different guides but they all were talking about UEFI and I don't think the P55A-UD3 is UEFI capable. When I booted to the USB drive, all I saw was "boot1: /boot" followed by the number "5" then it just froze. So I could't even get the USB drive to boot up. My setup is: Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 Rev 2 (F11 BIOS) Intel i5-760 2.8 GHz processor 8 GB RAM Intel 730 Series SSD (480 GB) Nvidia GeForce 9800 graphics (1 GB video RAM) Any help starting me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks --- Rick Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/305245-ga-p55a-ud3-clover-yosemite/ Share on other sites

fusion71au
@RF64, I have the Rev 1 version of the GA P55a UD3/Intel i5 750/ATI Radeon HD 5770 and can confirm it works well with Yosemite 10.10.2 and Clover_v2.3k_r3193. The config.plist in the linked post should work for your system but obviously needs adjustment for the graphics section ie instead of Inject ATI set to true, you need Inject Nvidia: <key>Graphics</key> <dict> <key>Inject</key> <dict> <key>ATI</key> <false/> <key>Intel</key> <false/> <key>NVidia</key> <true/> </dict> The boot0:error or b1f:error maybe due to the Clover partition on the USB drive not being properly formatted to FAT32. I also found that the system BIOS would hang if the USB installer was GUID instead of MBR- see post#66 for how to create a Clover/UEFI Windows/Yosemite MBR installer and @avin7000's thread on dual booting with UEFI Windows for other configuration advice. Good Luck! 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/305245-ga-p55a-ud3-clover-yosemite/#findComment-2122054 Share on other sites
RF64
@xmen107 @fusion71au Thanks so much for the quick replies. Curious that I did not find the previous post mentioned when searching for p55a-ud3. I appreciate the guidance. So it looks like it is possible to use this board with Clover/Yosemite. I will keep at it and read through those posts. I will have to dig into it more when I can get some free time. --- Rick Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/305245-ga-p55a-ud3-clover-yosemite/#findComment-2122232 Share on other sites
RF64
Update - It looks like you guys have the P55A-UD3 working with Clover so I am anxious to try it. However, I have found that the previous posts you linked have all of the images and attached files missing. I sent a note to the site admin and heard back that there was an outage. Although the actual images and files were not lost, the links to them no longer work. So until that gets fixed on the Insanelymac website, it looks like I am out of luck with getting all of the information. That probably also explains why my searches for the P55A-UD3 did not come back with anything. Looks like I will have to sit tight until the website is fixed. Thanks again for the leads on the information - I'll keep checking to see if/when the website gets fixed. ---Rick Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/305245-ga-p55a-ud3-clover-yosemite/#findComment-2122482 Share on other sites
