I had tried to follow Rehabman's tut on patching the DSDT to enable brightness control, and about halfway after installing all needed programs, I noticed that I am

missing the device (or sub-device) containing the _BCM _BQL and so on, methods. I attached my DSDT, I hope anyone knows whats going on with it.

Thanks

System DSDT.zip

Hello!

It is hard to help you because of your unknown hardware. Please put your relevant hardware in your signature, like many others  have done it here.

Are there no ssdt files with the missing methods in?

Have fun.

You're methods are probably in an SSDT. But it is unlikely you'll need the _DOS method anyway.

So you mean I can continue? Because I already tried to add the code disregarding the missing sub device. Didn't work though lol

Silly me! I was using the wrong kext because I looked up multiple tutorials. The brightness slider works now, but does nothing yet :)

So yeah, with the DSDT posted initially the slider works, but doesn't adjust the brightness. What can I do? :3

if cpu core i gen 1 ( xxx ) u need search google patch brightness and blacklight with gen 1

and Cpu core i gen 2 > u need patch with patches Rehabman with DSDT

Hello!

Try to boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes (key to set in Chameleon).

Have fun.

I already have that bootflag

So i looked into what Rehabman suggested and I extracted a SSDT from windows

where I found the instructions from the LCD device.

Unluckily after modifying it I got such a bad kernel panic that removing the SSDT

didn't fix it, will have to re install it again...

Alright, it took me some time, but I got everything working again (except for brightness ofcourse).

I did a fresh reinstall and after some testing I noticed that the hackintosh only boots if I don't skip Nvidia GFX, furthermore

in display settings it's not mentioned anywhere that there is intel hd graphics in this laptop.

This leads me to think that the nvidia gpu is the only one used by my build.

Running small benchmarks confirms that mentioning my nvidia gpu, although the graphical performance is way down compared to

my windows build.

So what I will have to do is search a brightness fix for Nvidia, shouldn't be too hard I guess.

@styrian this is what it looks like in sys pref (http://imgur.com/4xIQNUy)

@rehabman I extracted my gpu's ssdt with aida64 and found needed methods, but still

it just enables a fancy slider that doesn't do anything... Mind if you look into my ssdt?

Thanks
