Hi ,

I am using NVIDIA Geforce 7300LE.So, I have installed macvidia from http://macvidia.starchaser.org/ thru their installer .When i restarted , after the initial apple boot screen , the screen goes blank and monitor was

stilll blinking . I couldnt see the screen saying , "Starting Apple MAC OS X" and thereafter .

Is thr any work-around to solve this ?

Thanks in advance,

I guess your the default resolution / refresh rate can be too high for your monitor. I had similar problem, but not at just after macvidia installation. Try to run OS X with different resolution (add some parameters in boot line)

when booting press any key and get a boot line an then put there:

"Graphics Mode"="1280x1024x32@85"

of course put resolution you want, i.e. 1024x768x32 (you don't have to put refresh rate there).

check first what resolutions are supported by your monitor.

if you find the resolution which works fine, edit your com.apple.Boot.plist file and add a line with the graphic mode.

i have experienced not always the graphics mode works, as sometimes still boots in another graphics mode, especially with macvidia drivers.

but try...

good luck !!!

Thanks again .

Well , i tried the solution but in vain .

I tried giving the following option in the boot line

boot: "Graphics Mode"="1024x768x32@60"

and

boot : "Graphics Mode"="1024x768x24x60"

but still i get a blank screen !!

The screen tries to come up but returns to blank screen. I can hear a click sound in the monitor

similar to, when the monitor is swithced by BIOS/manually .

pls help me to see the mac screen again .

BTW , is thr anyway to drop to command line or safe mode instead of booting to GUI ,

in case to edit Boot.plist file or uninstall macvidia. I tried to boot to Ubuntu and tried editing

but i could only mount as read-only .

This sounds similar to the problem I'm having. Thread:

Maybe one of these solutions will work for you. Just to be clear, my system (with the Macvidia drivers installed, which currently I've neglected to do after a fresh install) will actually get all the way booted up, and will be usable for about twenty seconds before the machine goes to sleep (blanks out). My power light blinks, like it's asleep normally, but when I try to wake it the machine tries and can't wake. This the exact problem you're having, or not quite?

Not the same problem actually . For you , i think , you could see the GUI after the

spinning icon of MAC logo and soon after that system goes to sleep forcibly. This doesnt happen for me . I had everythin in my Mac

going well untill this Macvidia {censored} has been installed . After the spinning icon ,

i couldnt see anything in my screen at all .My monitor's LED was blinking and i could hear a sound when the

screen fickers to put the GUI , but again goes back to blinking (after failure in setting the resolution/refresh rate ? ) .

I am trying to either fix the solution or uininstall the driver somehow !!! Somebody pls help ..

bu if u start OS X in safe mode this will reset screen to the correct resolution

change the resolution there if screen goes blank again you can still change the arrow key to change it back
