Jared Kipe
I have an EAX1600XT Silent I'm trying to get to work, and I've found something I hope everyone can help me out with. Basically I get rendering errors, particularly in the dark tones, that manifest themselves as little red dots or other colored dots. Here is a picture of the problem. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act...ost&id=5311 But using some scientific method I think I have found the source of the problem. Overly aggressive cooling on the card. I had been running the card with a fan on the card (as a temperorary solution till I got my better CPU cooler), as such the heatpipes and the card were very cool. However, if I remove that fan and let it heat up, I don't get the errors, or at least fewer of them. So I was going to go get another card (this would be my third, but the first one had a completely different issue). But I got to thinking, what if this is the way the card is designed or something. So anyone who has the card, and its working, can you take off your side case and put a fan directly on the heatsink blowing down on it and see if you get the graphical errors? Its easiest to see the errors if you open the picture I just linked, and wave it around really fast. Lastly here is a link to my old thread about my troubles. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...c=29857&hl= Thank you all.
