luki1979
I installed drivers for my USB sound card and now it won't boot without kext-dev-mode=1. The same with atheros enabler kext. That is final 10.10 Yosemite. Anybody experienced the same problem? Mr. Xtreme
Not a problem just apple making the OS more "Secure" notice what that boot flag says it means kernel extension (kext) loading inĀ developer mode yes. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/301943-third-party-kexts-no-boot-without-kext-dev-mode1/#findComment-2075505 Share on other sites

Huckleberry Pie
What's next? Apple checking for third-party bootloaders, FakeSMC and whatnot? Sure enough, Apple seems complacent about their operating system's security/DRM, but I sometimes worry about our Hackintosh days being put to a halt for every new version they release. ikingblack
What about third-party signed kexts? Do those work, or do third-party vendors with drivers for OS X (such as NTFS) need to set a boot flag for OS X in their installer?
