Crabhunter
I'm trying to get the yosemite kernel to put on the root of my usb installer and every guide points me to S/L/Kernels, I assume this is on base system but I don't have a folder called Kernels on mine. I'm using what I believe is the gold master. Mike Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/301528-i-dont-have-systemlibrarykernels/ Share on other sites
fusion71au
@Crabhunter, You have to manually create the Kernels folder in S/L after you restore Base System to the installer USB. The kernel is actually located in the "Essentials.pkg" in the Packages folder of InstallESD, which can be extracted with Pacifist. Crabhunter
Right so the kernel has to in S/L/K not root of the installer? I have to create the folder Kernels and the kernel itself is in Essentials.pkg. I should be able to cope with that. Thanks. rabbit74
To correct the error: Can't find Mach_kernel Please remove the key and string from chameleon.boot.plist <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> never mind chasing after the kernel or pacifist... the newest chimera knows what kernel you're using and where to find it and its cache. enjoy PS Thanks MacMan Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/301528-i-dont-have-systemlibrarykernels/#findComment-2070468 Share on other sites
