winteum Posted October 13, 2006 Share Posted October 13, 2006 Hi all, After working on jas 10.4.7 and now with Jas 10.4.8 AMD SSE3 update, native and dual boot on my system, I got: 1) Had set my vendor and device on appleac97amd and ...plugin/...198x.kext and, no sound. --> configuring Azalia, got HDaudio Output only. HDA.kext has been deleted but input not working. 2) Had installed nforce4 lan forcedeth.kext , ethernet fully recognized but not working. Tried yukon too, not working at all. 3) Can't reboot. It is a result of the fact that our hacked OSX is using a kernel from 10.4.4 and that is getting old relative to newer processors coming out. No one has yet successfully hacked a newer kernel. As regards the mouse and keyboard issue, connecting my mouse to the usb port works, but not when it's plugged on the ps/2 port... Thanks in advance, Luciano. If you used my dvd you did not install the amd patches. It has errors with ramdisk creation at booting from DVD and was too much slow until enter in installation but i got to install it native and with all patches for AMD. winteum Posted October 16, 2006 Author Share Posted October 16, 2006 Very interesting: After had tried everything to get ac97 works, I went to look for my extensions at system profile. For my surprise, as you can see, there is no ac97 esxtension at that list!!!! And I kextloaded it succesfully!!! After that, looked at audio (built-in) and nothing are recognized... Interesting that the ethernet, he recognize but, in system preferences there are no built-in ethernet option....
