Hi guys,

sorry, i know this question has been put a few times but i couldn't solve my problem yet. My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8SGXP (SIS 648/655) with a Realtek AC97 chip. The tutorial i've found in the wiki-audio is just for nforce3/4 and it doesn't work on my system. What can i do? When i edit the file in "/System/Library/Extensions/AppleAC97Audio.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleAC97AudioIntelICH.kext/Contents", there are many entries like "Intel ICH1-6" and the "NVIDIA AC97 Audio". If i add my vender/device id, my sound card appears in "System preferences" but the only sound i get is something like "dadadadadadadadada" :(

Please help me, i don't know what to do!

PS: Please excuse my bad english ;)

All these answers can be found by reading this site and others:

All you new users should know that it is so much easier and everything works so much better with Intel CPU and Intel chipset, which really don't cost much more than the stuff you are trying to install:
