scoobydu
Hi there Long shot, but wondered if anyone else was having the crash issue with the LSI3ware9000.kext under Yosemite public beta? Near perfect build except for this issue, if anyone has the same or similar issue? cheers
styrian
Hello! I had this issues with 9650SE on Mavericks, driver KP with iopci. Last driver is for Lion and had worked on ML. It is very annoying, that development has been canceled by LSI with 10.7 for a even not cheap product. I´ll never purchase products of this brand. Look with google, if anybody has done a binpatch for the kext. Sorry for you, does also make for you no fun.
scoobydu
Thanks for the response styrian. I hadn't updated from Mountain Lion to Mavericks so didn't realise it had issues. I presume you didn't find a workaround based on your annoyance with the manufacturer? I'll google for the binpatch thanks.
Turnipio
I have also had this issue with the LSI/3ware 9650SE-4LPML adapter when I upgraded from ML to Mavericks. The last code set released by LSI was 10.2 which was for 10.7 - 10.8. As far as 10.9/Mavericks, I recall LSI having indicated that they were no longer supporting my product as of OSX 10.9. I landed up replacing it with a Highpoint RocketRAID ROC 4520 SAS controller and haven't had an issue since. http://www.hptmac.com/product-list.php?category=22&type=13&bus_type=3 http://www.amazon.com/HighPoint-RocketRAID-4520-PCI-Express-Controller/dp/B008KYXYYC/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407021799&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=rockerraid+4520 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816115121&cm_re=highpoint_rocketraid_4520-_-16-115-121-_-Product Hope this helps T
styrian
Hello! If I am correct, LSI has sniffed up 3ware and stopped support for these products at laest for Macs. I have been looking around to find a binpatch for the kext anywhere else in the net. But no luck. Fine business thinking, tought perhaps of canceled support for 3ware, they would sell more of their LSI products. I don´t trust them anymore. Hopefully many others don´t buy their not even cheap products anymore.
Turnipio
I totally agree with you. That's why I went with highpoint: even though maybe not the absolute fastest on the market, but stable and solid and perfect for my needs
styrian
Hello! The best thing with Highpoint is, working bootable oob because of native OSX support. Have fun.
scoobydu
Ok thanks all. I've been googling for a few days and haven't found a solution. Tried codeset 10.2 and upgraded my firmware and still the same issue. I am running a highpoint card in my other server and as you say, not the fastest, but solid and its runs ootb with Yosemite. Will move this to my Unraid box and get the Megaraid back and try the user led dev drivers. Thanks
