yushi90
Thank you. Unfortunately I get a kernel panic when booting with dsdt. I there any way to log the panic to investigate the problem? lufeig
you could start by posting a picture of your screen showing the kp Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299179-dsdt-last-steps-help/#findComment-2035175 Share on other sites
yushi90
Ok, the KP was just some false alarm, DSDT seems to be running. Still, it did not change my backlight situation. By using Backlight Slider from App Store, I can slide between 0 and 50% but not further. How does that come? Are any solutions known to this? lufeig
Most backlight / shade / brightness apps don't use hardware control, but some kind of layer to darken or brighten the image. They actually don't save any battery. In your case, the app you are using probably from 0 to 50% is software controlled, so it works From 50 to 100% is hardware controlled, and because your patch is not working, the app doesn't work Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299179-dsdt-last-steps-help/#findComment-2035305 Share on other sites
yushi90
Ok, Good Point. I tried patched dsdt and ssdt files from someone who had success, but i still have no luck I recognized that acpibacklight.kext is Not being loaded. How can i load that on boot? I installed and rebuild caches with kext wizard. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/299179-dsdt-last-steps-help/#findComment-2035383 Share on other sites
