redneck
I had to install Yosemite to a usb HD with a 8g chameleon yosemite installer. (installer would only see my usb drives) Then create an img to restore to my PC HD. I also now use a 2g chameleon yose 2377 boot drive so I can boot to > mav, win, yose. Maybe the reason is my poor english that came out like that shows you that im not polite...but i am...anyway. 10.10 si running on Chameleon boot loader but cannot boot directly from the installed SSD, i can boot up only when the USB install drive is pluged and i am booting from it. same as for 10.9...I guess I ran the EFI post by mistake and it cause my install to be broken... I have 10.9 backup can i load this back back to my SSD and everything will be OK? Thanks and sorry again if someone got wrong feeling... MiniHack
To get back to original question I would say my answer would be simply yes. What I found was that installing 10.10 to a USB drive from my real MacBook Air was the best way to easily create both a bootable install as well a bootable installer. What I mean is that Yosemite - as I am sure you know - when it is installed onto an external USB not only makes a 10.10 partition but also puts a 10.10 installer on it. Then just having an up to date Clover installation on my NUC (with the Kernel Patches and kext-dev-mode=1 in the plist) means that when my USB disk is attached to it the Clover boot loader sees it and then I can happily use the vanilla installer to install direct to my NUC. In fact, it turned out to be my least complicated install method yet for a hack. The other great thing of course is that my USB install is completely interchangeable between my MacBook Air and my NUC as Clover is only installed on the NUC itself so I can swap around between Mac and Hack without any issues….
