davidm71
Hi, I was wondering if its possible to multiboot with Windows installed on an Intel Raid array and OSX on another free intel sata port? I use to be able to do this with an older version of chameleon and Mountain Lion but it seems newer versions of Chameleon and Chimera wont load OSX unless bios is set to AHCI. Is there a work around? If anyone knows be very grateful. Thank you. davidm71
I just wanted to add I'm using Chimera 2.2.1. That doesn't allow intel raid to be turned on. I also tried the latest Clover version v2k_r2671 and got a quick reboot with that. I wonder if that older version of chameleon that lets raid work would be compatible with Mavericks.. davidm71
Hi, I just wanted to bump my own thread and mark my question as solved. All the credit goes to SticMAC and his very detailed explanation on how to configure 10.9.x to allow the Intel Raid firmware to run side by side your OSX installation and not have any issues booting into Mavericks. The details are located here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/148990-solved-windows-works-with-raid-on-and-mac-os-x-with-autodetect-raidata/?p=1061990. Basically he mods the AppleAHCIPort.kext in your System/Library/Extensions folder by adding the 28228086 device id into the info.plist file in AppleAHCIPort.kext/contents. After that you use Kexthelper to install the kext and then reboot with raid firmware in bios turned on and not worry about stalling out waiting for osx. As many of us dual boot I beg the moderator to pin those instructions for others for future use. I know this site is dedicated to the mac but even macs run windows with bootcamp so this is important stuff. If only I could now make Mavericks ignore my two drive windows raid array at every boot I'll have the perfect system! Thanks. davidm71
I just figured it out. You have to set the Info.plist to invisible: Terminal and enter setfile -a V followed by the name of the file If info.plist is edited and saved it becomes visible. The hidden attribute needs to be reset. Then use kext utility to reinstall.
