Alright, I have an nVidia 6600gt PCI-E. I'm running 10.4.7, and I would like CI and QE. I know the macvidia project supports this card, but no 3D yet.

The Mac Pro's shipped with nVidia, so can we or can't we use this driver? I've been checking a lot of post's and there was somthing about the Apple driver needing a newer kernel in 10.4.7? is this right? So is the 10.4.7/10.4.8 updates kicking around for hackintosh not including this kernel?

I apologize if this has been covered, I couldn't find a thread for it.

I read full accel is possible with the x1600? Is this easy? Does it have to be a x1600XT? Or can it be any X1600? Where can I find good info about this? It's so hard to get info and the big picture when theres 100 threads all having a little info, can someone try to give the big picture of it? :) tnx.

I call shenanigans!

This thread is about Nvidia. How does that apply to ATI x1600 cards?

For your answer, follow the Boris link in my signature. There is a manual patch in posting #1 and an installer in posting #3. They work slightly differently and different people get different results.

I would really love to see somethign fixed for the Nvidia cards. I have teh 6600GT, and it would be nic eto have QE/CI

MacVidia nVidia Driver 1.0.8

Monday, 28 August 2006

We are happy to announce that we have released a new MacVidia driver version for you.

This is the last release of our driver without QE, CI or GL support and we want to have a solid driver base working before we release our GLDriver.-

Improvements are a lot, but to note:

Several bugfixes and improved compatibility.

Dual monitor / display engine added to the driver core, but not enabled yet, we want to test some other things first.

This version is coded in a totally different way, so, when we release our GLDriver at some moment in future, you just drop it there and you will have full GL support.
