It has an intel core i5-4200u with 1.6-2.6 ghz dual core processor.

8gb ram

Geforce GT740m

And an onboard sound card.

Is it ready for osx?

Which one? What things wouldnt work with my laptop?

Thank you in advance

It also has intel hd 4400 as second graphic card. Might this work? I will look the soudn card up later. Have to study now for my math exam tomorrow. But you say everything else should work? Also the latest mac osx? Or are there restrictions?

- WiFi maybe a candidate troubles. Maybe you'll have to swap the WiFi card - it depends on the specific chipset (please give vendor and device id for exact answer)

- touch screen is questionable

- touch pad also (maybe there will be the lack of multi touch gestures, maybe not working at all, maybe it's fully supported... depends on the specific device)

HD4400 is working. HD4400 is basicly a slower HD4600 (just lower frequencies, but all cores, pipes, etc). To get the intel graphics card working see http://www.insanelymac.com/_/osx86/intel-hd4000-and-haswell-inject-aaplig-platfor-r1005.

wifi = Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 2230 + BT 4.0 i think. you will need to swap with a compatible one and HP are basterds because they like locking their BIOS to their selected hardware.

touchscreen dont work with Mac. touchpad will if you can get the right kexts for your dev id.
