armor1
In the Hardware Compatibility List, we have a report of Dell Dimension 3000 working natively. How about the Dell Dimension 2400? It's only $300 for a complete system (even comes with a printer), so if it works, it would be less than half as much as the least expensive solution (Mac mini plus monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer) from Apple. What are other cost-effective possibilities? Outpost.com / Fry's has the low-cost GQ PC and GQ laptops. Do they work? How about eMachine? What's the least expensive solution there? It is possible that some of these really inexpensive PCs may run Tiger faster than high-end Macs.
tylerl82
The integrated graphics on the 2400 only seem to work in 800x600x4 mode. 16 colors isn't very flattering for OS X. Any way to force it to use another graphics driver?
