ameris_cyning
Everyone was one. Everyone. We all asked those stupid questions. Lets see how newbish you were: This is from me in 2008 http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/110624-kalyway-installation-question-about-my-current-kernel/ I have installed OSx86 using the Kalyway DVD, and I am about to install the 10.5.3 update. Unfortunately, I am not as well versed as I wish I was in this field, so, to ask a "newbish" question, how do I figure out how to see which kernel my Hackintosh is using? Thanks. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292895-i-was-a-newb/ Share on other sites
Gringo Vermelho
I (my old account) joined here in February 2008. There are earlier posts but this was the first topic I started...bitching about the 20 second limit flood control: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/167333-flood-control/ I was a newbie somewhere else - the uphuck (iATKOS) forum, where I later became a moderator. I left without a word (sorry guys) once I learned how to run retail OS X. 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292895-i-was-a-newb/#findComment-1956371 Share on other sites
joe75
"1000 monkeys aren't enough." When i first started i was helping with graphics on MacVidia site (as lippy) and later went on to mod there. I had been following the development here since IM started but didn't open an account until people started posting their links to here at macvidia.. My brother has been a lifelong mac user and i had helped him with many problems on old OS builds and was already familiar with most things before i got started with my own hacks. I wasn't really a newb but everyone has their n00b moments Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292895-i-was-a-newb/#findComment-1956721 Share on other sites
fantomas
I was a newbie somewhere else - the uphuck (iATKOS) forum, where I later became a moderator. Gringo Vermelho
I changed it because one day out of the blue I agreed with myself that "Beerkex'd" was a stupid name. "1000 monkeys aren't enough." Yeah I was pretty pissed off about that flood control..IIRC there was an error message saying something like "we have a 1000 trained monkeys working on fixing this problem" hence the monkeys comment. 3.14r2
I still consider myself a newbie. Even after following the subject for about 8 years. Yet there aren't that many subjects I could help. The scene is still very much alive and evolving, hence you may become a newbie just by not following the subject for a quite some time. 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/292895-i-was-a-newb/#findComment-1981782 Share on other sites
Mr. Xtreme
When I first saw the hackintosh scene A few years ago I thought the only way to hackintosh was tonymuk and his MultiSuck+UniMuck method but I came back upon the hackintosh scene about april/may 2014 and I have become quite goot at it so I was a newbie.
