Hello all,

Recently I installed OSX 10.7 on my Alienware m11x r1

here are the specs:

  • Intel Pentium Processor SU4100 (2M Cache, 1.30 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) -OR- Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 (1.3GHz, 800 MHz, 3 MB)
  • 2GB, -OR- 4GB, -OR- 8GB DDR3 - 800MHz RAM
  • 11.6-inch WideHD 1366x768 (720p) LCD
  • 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M discrete video
  • Mobile Intel GS45 Chipset
  • Intel 4500HD onboard video
  • Intel Internal High-Definition 5.1 Surround Sound Audio

My problem is that when I run things like sixtyforce (a n64 emulator) or TF2 or minecraft (pretty much any game) I get only around 12-17 fps which this laptop should be getting a lot more (check out this video for example:

) All these games are on the lowest settings

I have no graphical problems when i open launchpad though. everything is smooth. But all games seem to ignore the fact that my gpu exists. I know this laptop can run well because i could run these games smoothly on my windows installation.

The computer does see my GPU in its system profiler and its display settings but still it is very slow.

I have tried the methods of removing the applegraphicspowermanagment.kext in order to boost my graphics but nothing has changed...

I'd love some help it would be great to get this working again.

- Colin
