1. Hey all, First Hackintosh that I think I have completed! I've been working on it on and off for a month, but just grinded it this past weekend. I just have a small QOL issue. I have posted in the r/Hackintosh reddit, but have not gotten a reply to this specific issue, but did for other issues I was having. I also posted at tonymacx86 and was getting replies for other issues I was having, but got banned because I said, "used VM, but didn't work" in my OP I think ... I followed a PC vanilla guide from r/Hackintosh that I found as I did not have an Apple system. One monitor connected to a GTX 1080, CPU: i7-8700, Coffee Lake. Motherboard is Alienware specific 0VDT73, with chipset Z370. The issue is every time High Sierra boots up and gets to the login screen, my keyboard and mouse do not work. I only have to reseat both and then they work the whole time until I restart. They are both plugged into USB2.0 ports. I do have Lilu, WhateverGreen, USBInjectAll, and VoodooPS2 installed in my /Library/Extensions folder using #####. Mouse and Keyboard work fine each time I boot to Clover (USB). Any ideas? Thank you! Working: NVIDIA using (One) DisplayPort, USB3.0 (rear), USB-C (rear), USB2.0 (rear), Audio, Ethernet EDIT: Did some more testing, and it looks like my Keyboard works fine after each reboot, the only issue is that my mouse has to continuously be reseated. Any ideas? Could it just be the mouse? It's an old Inland USB mouse: 337451
2. I have a question. I have been dealing with this all week. I have burned DVD's like no other. I tried (I know its illegal but tried atkios l2 - just to see if maybe my old usb drive was faulty) None of the distros work for me. I am running the M18X Ivy Bridge with 14gb ram, 3 HDD and nvidia 660m. I am just tired of dvd's laying around and I accidently reformatted the usb containing my DMG file, and I do not have a mac around since I sold it due to Veterans Affairs not paying me on time and needed to pay my bills, so re downloading is horrible and I live on a farm, so I am stuck with nearest neighbor about 1.6 miles away... so finding someone else with a Mac is amazingly hard... What should I do? Is there a Ivy Bridge pre-built distribution I can use that supports Ivy Bridge. Any way to burn DMG without corruption? What can I do. Thanks in advance! -MaxAttaX
3. I installed a second hard drive into my Alienware M14x by replacing the optical drive with a caddy. I installed lion on the second hard drive, and it boots fine, but it's really slow after it boots. Sometimes when I click on anything, it just hangs for about 10 seconds then loads, but it's pretty inconsistent - sometimes its fine, sometimes it hangs. It's odd because I had lion working perfectly fine in the primary HDD bay, but when I move it to the optical drive caddy, it's slows down. I was having this same problem in Windows, but I fixed it by installing Intel's Rapid Storage Technology drivers. Is there some sort of equivalent Kext, or something else that I should be doing to make it work properly? System Information says it's got an Intel 6 Series chipset. I know the optical drive port is only SATA 1.5 Gbps, but I don't think that should really affect it as much as it is.
4. Hello all, Recently I installed OSX 10.7 on my Alienware m11x r1 here are the specs: Intel Pentium Processor SU4100 (2M Cache, 1.30 GHz, 800 MHz FSB) -OR- Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 (1.3GHz, 800 MHz, 3 MB) 2GB, -OR- 4GB, -OR- 8GB DDR3 - 800MHz RAM 11.6-inch WideHD 1366x768 (720p) LCD 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M discrete video Mobile Intel GS45 Chipset Intel 4500HD onboard video Intel Internal High-Definition 5.1 Surround Sound Audio My problem is that when I run things like sixtyforce (a n64 emulator) or TF2 or minecraft (pretty much any game) I get only around 12-17 fps which this laptop should be getting a lot more (check out this video for example: ) All these games are on the lowest settings I have no graphical problems when i open launchpad though. everything is smooth. But all games seem to ignore the fact that my gpu exists. I know this laptop can run well because i could run these games smoothly on my windows installation. The computer does see my GPU in its system profiler and its display settings but still it is very slow. I have tried the methods of removing the applegraphicspowermanagment.kext in order to boost my graphics but nothing has changed... I'd love some help it would be great to get this working again. - Colin
5. Hey everybody, I am attempting to get my ATI Mobility Radeon 7970M working in Mac OS X. I am using an Alienware M17x R4. 6. Hey guys, I have an alienware m14x r2 with an I7-3630qm and im having issues with getting more than two p-states (12 and 24). Which from my understanding is that my power management is not working properly, or at all. I have checked kextstat aswell as in system information under extensions and verified that Appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext is loaded as well as AppleLPC.kext, AppleSMC and AppleHPET.kext. I have the appleintelcpupowermanagementinfo.kext and it shows only two p-states are active. I have generated an DSDT following the guides, upon compiling it i had a few errors but i found a patch on here under the motherboard patch sections for my laptop. I used that to patch it and it took away the errors. I dont believe my dsdt is the issue, but i honestly dont know. I generated the ssdt using the SSDT-pr script and had it saved to the extra folder. I am using chameleon 2.2 and in that i have DropSSDT=Yes. I have tried a few different combos but it either results in 1 pstate (12) or 2 pstates (12 and 24). I have tried to disable turbo in bios which results in one pstate. I have tried Disabling speedstep in bios which results in 1 pstate. I have Tried Macbookpro10.1 smbios, macmini6.2. Which still only give me 2 pstates. I have attached my dsdt, ssdt and my Appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext which was patched using the patcher from insanelymac.com/downloads section made by iFire. Also i didnt mention I am on 10.8.3. This is my bdmesg from chameleon. Customizing SystemID with : 44454c4c-5100-1037-8033-b4c04f435731 Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/Extra/DSDT.aml] 41647 bytes. Can anyone help me fix my DSDT?

I got 10.9.5 to work on my laptop. I thought everything was working, but it turns out HDMI sound, Headphones and the SD card isn't working. Also I get weird graphics issues like this... The graphics issue only shows up with anything that may use quicktime. XBMC and Safari both run through quicktime so I get this issue with those. If I use Google Chrome it works perfectly. It also does show my card. I downloaded NVIDIA's drivers for 10.9.5 in order for it to detect my card Is any of this fixable with DSDT? Could anyone help me? I am booting with Clover as well so I have no idea how to use clover to load the dsdt. My specs Alienware 17 i7 4700qm Nvidia 780m GTX 16 GB Ram BCM43xx Wifi + Bluetooth Killer e2200 Network Card https://www.dropbox.com/s/52x2fw0coy7vahh/dsdt.aml?dl=0 Might help to post the DSDT sorry see aove

Alienware 17 won't update

I followed the Alienware tutorial here http://www.niresh.co...17-r5-tutorial/ Did everything to spec. The creator has the same laptop specs as me as well. My config: Alienware 17 i7 4800qm 780m GTX 16 GB Ram BCM43xx Wifi Killer e2200 Network Card It boots, but didn't have any sound and the 780m GTX cards fan was on high as soon as it started. I have installed all of the Kext files with kextwizard. Then I tried to update it using the bundled update 10.9.1...10.9.5.(this was after Niresh's files were done being modified by the system). When It called for a restart I restarted it and it restarts immediately. Then I tried -x -v. It wouldn't even try to work for me. It restarted so fast that i couldn't even see where it failed, but I'm assuming it's the kernel. SO what I did was reinstall and save the kernel and kexts. I updated and replaced my kernel and kexts and it restarts with no flags and will freeze at GeForceSensors (pci1): started. Nothing more happens and I let it sit there for a good 20-30 minutes. Then I removed all Geforce kexts. It freezes at Resetting IOCatalogue. I am at a loss. I need it updated at least to 10.9.3. Any ideas? I am willing to restart from scratch if anyone has already worked on an Alienware 17 and have been able to update it. If you have or know of how to do this please let me know. I am a ruby developer and my current macbook is having kernel panics with the GPU and I would rather work on my Alienware(it's 1000 better than the macbook despite how big it is). Thanks for any input.
9. Laptop Specs - Alienware m14x r2 I7- 3360qm Intel HM77 chipset 500gb 7200rpm sata 32gb SSD dvd/cd burner nvidia gt650m 2gb intel hd4000 2 usb 3.0 ports 1 usb 2.0 port The issue im having is with installing Mountain Lion through a USB stick. Whenever it gets to the point of "No Interval found for. Using 8000000", the jump drive in the usb 2.0 port turns off and it starts repeating "waiting for root device". I have tried swapping ports to the 3.0 ports, but they do the same thing. It loads chameleon and starts to load the kexts, but it produces the "waiting for root device" everytime after the "interval found". I have tried to create a Vanilla USB install using the guide from the forums, "#####", Myhack and all produce the same error. The only way I have gotten into the OSX Mountain Lion Installed is using "iatkosml2" and that was through a DVD DL. But when it starts to install at the 9 minute mark it brings up an error that says "Install could not be completed, please call your manufacturer". I have also used majority of the boot parameters, -v -f -x GraphicsEnabler=No USBBusFix=Yes UseKernelCache=No. I Even found a boot parameter "rd=disk0s2" And that did not help either. None of these parameters let the Mountain Lion install load from the USB ports. Is there any kexts or boot parameters someone knows that will help me get Mountain Lion installed on my M14X R2. Also, I am in the process of creating an IMG from the USB stick. Hopefully to where I can burn it to a DVD and maybe install that way. Spark Notes: Tried Vanilla, #####, MyHack, = produce error "waiting for root device" Iatkos = gets stuck on 9 minute mark of install I think the reason why i cant install through usb is that once it loads the kexts, the usb port becomes disabled (maybe i need the right kext?) Thanks guys, BTW i have searched and searched for the past 4 days to try and figure this out. Ok guys.. Cross your fingers.. I tried to install with the DVD that was made from USB installer and it wouldn't work. I tried to get it to boot with ##### but that didn't work. So I tried to use the USB stick to load chameleon n then try the DVD. While in chameleon I hit F5.. And all of a sudden it started loading kexts... And it finally just loaded the installer through USB! I don't know how it loaded but it did. I will update u with progress
10. Hello everyone. I succesfully setup OS X 10.8.2 on my Alienware M17X R4. I had to start with -x flag in order to see my hard disk drives. After installation, I have to boot with -f flag in order to pass the "Still waiting for root" problem. Now I have some issues with my hardware. I read a lot of topics in these very forums but without succes until now. I have an nVidia GTX680M and the first time I boot up, i hang on black screen even with "EnableGraphics=No". I then remove the nVidia kext from /System/Library/Extension to boot up with succes but with very poor graphics. I then put back the drivers and start with an external monitor and it works OOB (tranparency on top bar and very fancy graphics), but my laptop monitor was still black. Maybe I could solve this with a correct DSDT, but I don't have any clue to make this, that's why I need your help. For the rest of the hardware, USB 3 work with the kext given here --> http://www.insanelym...40#entry1900893, sound work with voodoo kext but i can't modify master volume :S I also have problems with my wifi. The card is recognize (Atheros 9380) but no network is found. I'm working on this. So there is 2 main issues which are graphics and network. The rest seems ok for now. It will be great if you can give me some clue to make this work. I think dsdt could be the solution. Thank you in advance.
11. Hi! I converted my Alienware Aurora R4 in a Hackintosh and... work perfectly!!! Sound, Usb3.0, all!! I use ##### and ##### without dsdt, and chimera. I am new in this procedures. But... My problem is that AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement dosen't work for me. I try all! -Tried NullCPU... but I loss the overclocking velocity, and fall from 4,2ghz to 3,2ghz. -Tried Patched... and patched by me too, but AICPUPM give me everytime a Kernel Panic. -Tried install Clover, and use UEFI, but is the same problem. KP. -Tried make my dsdt with dsdt editor, and a sdst with the generator. But nothing. -Couldn't use Voodoo Pstates to make a dsdt, because I use ML and don't load. -Tried all in the config boot, and nothing... I read all the post abour the error, but nothing nothing. Snif Please help me... Manual overclocking don't work. I tried it, but... multiplier of A07 bios didn't work. I only think to... patch the bios. But I don't know if that is possible, or... a good idea. I'm desperate. Thanks for help!!!
12. Can anyone tell me if the alienware m15x laptops will be supported for snow leopard and if so what install method should i choose? 13. Hi all, I just realized that the Alienware 15 uses the same GPU as the new Retina 5K iMac, and both use a Haswell CPU... Would this be a possible Hackintosh Notebook?
14. **If this is in the wrong section, please move it.. sorry I'm new here. I'm making this small guide to show people out there with the new Alienware 14 model laptop (haswell cpu) that is possible to get Mavericks booting without any errors and without having to use commands such as: -x and GraphicsEnabler=No. However, you will have to get other hardware such as soundcards, internet cards, and graphic cards working by yourself. Hopefully this guide will serve a greater purpose, helping all of us create or find working kext for these hardwares. Guide (USB Method): *Must have: A copy of Mac already installed and running, I used OS X booted on VMWare, worked perfect.** || Download the 'mach_kernel' from this link: mach_kernel (it is at the bottom in an attachment) **Recommended: 8GB or more USB drive** & myHack as it will rebuild the cache automatically for us **Note: I'm doing most of this from recent memory so if something doesn't work, just let me know. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1) First find and download a retail copy of OS X Mavericks. It doesn't matter how you get the copy as long as it is the retail copy. 2) Now you have your copy of Mavericks. Now its time to format your USB drive. Open Disk utility and select your drive and format it as 'Mac OS (Journaled)'. That's it, now exit the disk utlity. 3) I used myHack 3.3 to create the USB installer if you have another method of doing this, go ahead and use your method as it doesn't matter, we just need to create the USB installer. If you have never used myHack, it is pretty straight forward and does all the work for you. Click create USB installer and choose 10.9 Mavericks and specify where your copy is and myHack will begin working. When myHack ask you if you want to set the drive for Master Boot Record or GUID Partition Tables, make sure you choose GUID Partition Table or the USB installer will not function correctly and then let myHack finish working. Now exit myHack. 4) Now you must download the custom 'mach_kernel' if you have not already (mach_kernel link). Once you have the kernel downloaded it is time to replace the one that is in the USB installer. Go to finder and go into the USB installer, mach_kernel will be in there, look for it and make sure you are in the root folder where it is located. Now drag the 'mach_kernel' you downloaded from RehabMan's thread and REPLACE the one that is in the USB Installer. Now close finder. 5) This is where myHack is recommended, if you didn't use myHack, find out how to rebuild the cache for the installer and make sure you do not overwrite that 'mach_kernel'. Open myHack and choose to 'Fix myHack', choose your USB Installer volume and myHack will begin to rebuild and repair the USB Installer. Once this process is finished, close myHack and you now have a working USB Installer for the Alienware 14 with Haswell CPU. (the old mach_kernel was keeping the installer from starting) **From this point you should know what to do, so I will be short on some parts** 6) You are not done yet! Boot your USB Installer and get to the disk utility. Format the hard drive you want to mac os extended (journaled) and begin the installation of Mac OS X 10.9. 7) Once the installation is done it will reboot the computer, boot back into the USB Installer!! 8) Now that you are in the USB Installer again, open up terminal. We need to copy the new mach_kernel from the installer over to mac OS X 10.9 (this is why when you try and boot it quickly reboots, this will fix that). Type this in the terminal: # in Terminal from the OS X installer, assuming your HDD volume is called "Macintosh HD" cp /mach_kernel "/Volumes/Macintosh HD/mach_kernel" Now restart your PC. (for more info on the mach_kernel vist this thread here on the site: haswell early reboot) 9) Boot into your Mavericks installation with these commands:( -v -x -f GraphicsEnabler=No ) Mavericks should now boot up in Safemode and you should be able to see the desktop or setup leading to login. 10) To get Mavericks to boot without any error or using commands we have to start fresh. Its time to delete some kernels that are causing the PC to panic or hang. Open finder and navigate to 'System, Library, Extensions' and delete or backup every kext that has to do with a graphics card, because at this point these kext are keeping your PC from booting correctly. If you have trouble finding which kext are graphics, they usually start with AMD, ATI, Geforce, Graphics, etc.. just be careful and do a google search if you are not completely sure. 11) After you have deleted or backed up the graphics kext it is time to delete or backup the bluetooth kext. There will be two bluetooth kext in there that are keeping the PC from booting correctly. They are the only ones in that folder that say bluetooth, remove them from the extensions folder. 12) Now you may restart the PC and boot your OS X installation normally without any commands and it should boot right to the login or desktop screen. Now it is up to you to get all the other hardware working correctly with the kext, just do it with caution because the installation is unstable at this point. I did this guide so that other people with the same hardware can come together and hopefully make fully functional kext. Intel hd4000 Stopped displaying

Hey guys, I have an alienware m14xr2 with a 1366x768 lcd and an intelhd4000. I had the intel hd4000 working perfectly with the the 1366x768 original lcd that came with the laptop. I wanted to upgrade my screen to a 900P screen (1600x900). I checked both my OSX and Win7 partitions before installing the lcd and they both loaded fine. I installed the lcd into the laptop and booted into windows 7 to verify it worked fine before putting the laptop together. I verified the resolution also and windows 7 was using 1600x900. Then i tried to boot into OSX (10.8.3) and it went to the chameleon screen, then apple screen popped up. After the pinwheel stopped spinning the screen flickered and went blank. I know the system is booted because i can hear the volume changer dinging. I have also tried all the efi strings for the intel hd4000 by creating copies of my chameleon.boot.plist file and loading it through boot flags when i launch my osx system. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? I also cant boot into safe mode, the screen is still blank. I was thinking of removing the intelhd4000 kexts but was looking for any other suggestions before doing that. Thanks in advance, These are the strings i tried. ig-platform-id: 01660000, Stolen RAM for FB: 96MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 4, FBMem: 3 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000000006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660001, Stolen RAM for FB: 96MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 4, FBMem: 3 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000001006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660002, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 1, FBMem: 1 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000002006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660003, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 2, FBMem: 2 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000003006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660004, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 1, FBMem: 1 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000004006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660008, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 3, FBMem: 3 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000008006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 01660009, Stolen RAM for FB: 64MB, Pipes: 3, Ports: 3, FBMem: 3 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d006900640000000800000009006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 0166000A, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 3, FBMem: 2 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d00690064000000080000000a006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string> ig-platform-id: 0166000B, Stolen RAM for FB: 32MB, Pipes: 2, Ports: 3, FBMem: 2 Code: <key>device-properties</key> <string>7f0000000100000001000000730000000200000002010c00d041030a000000000101060000027fff04002c0000004100410050004c002c00690067002d0070006c006100740066006f0072006d002d00690064000000080000000b006601140000006800640061002d0067006600780000000d0000006f6e626f6172642d31</string>
