HP Pavilion DV7 2260EF Motherboard: Hewlett-Packard 3624 18.51 CPU: Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo P7450 (2.13 GHz) (Sockey P (478)) Chipset: Intel PM45 (north), Intel 82801IM (ICH9-M) (south) RAM: 4 GB DDR4 (2 x 2 GB Samsung (PC3-10700 667 MHz)) Graphics Card: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 Compaq Presario CQ58 Motherboard: Hewlett-Parckarb 1858 65.34 CPU: Intel Celeron B820 (1.70 GHz) (Socket 988B rPGA) Chipset: Intel Sandy Bridge (north), Intel ID1E5E (south) RAM: 4 GB DDR3 (1 x 4 GB Hyundai Electronics (PC3-12800 800 MHz)) Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics In tried to install on the first, but got an error when trying to boot on it. panic(cpu 1 caller 0x001B170A): "Local APIC error, ESR: 64\n"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1228/12.14/osfmk/i386/lapic.c:610 I learn that this problem is from all DV7 serie and I need to patch the kernel to fix it, but I cannot since I've no Mac.... I don't know if it will work on the second laptop, can you tell me? Thanks a lot! donovan6000 Posted September 28, 2013 Share Posted September 28, 2013 Boot with cpus=1 and you'll be able to bypass the lapic kernel panic. Then you can patch the kernel from inside mac.
