spiegelei
Hi, my girlfriend owns a Laptop which is a Toshiba Satellite p850-12z. I did some research and it is a pretty decent machine. http://www.toshiba.co.uk/discontinued-products/satellite-p850-12z/ I'd like to give the hackintosh approach a try and she is willing to let me have a go at it. Do you guys think, the machine is compatible? It is Ivy-Bridge with Fermi based graphics (Geforce 630M) Cheers!

The GT630 will never work at this time because of Optimus. Just try to get the HD4000 properly working. For audio you have to find out, which chip is on the mainboard. Then you can try to find a patched AppleHDA.kext. Audio needs normally some DSDT edits too. Here are some topics about general installing Mountain Lion. Just do a search. To get better support, just put the hardware of your device in your signature, like I have done it. Have fun!
spiegelei
Ok, then I'll have a go at it. I need to figure out a protocol first, I'll post it here before actually going for it.
styrian
If possible you should do an install on an external harddisk at first to get no messup of the on her laptop running system. Have fun!
