JustFortehFun
Guys i have a AMD HD6950 (which is one of the hardest GPU's to get working with OSX), so i put low-end Nvidia card in my machine to get OSX to work. The problem is that both cards are being detected and both try to get initialized, but since the kexts for the AMD card are problematic, i can't init the Nvidia frame buffer. Is there a way to disable a certain PCI device (HD6950) so that OSX can't see it? joe_black
If this is a desktop just pull out the problematic card. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/290902-disable-pci-device/#findComment-1935823 Share on other sites
JustFortehFun
That's the thing, i don't want to. I want to use it as my main (because its way more powerful) in Windows, but completely disable it in OS X, to prevent init. JustFortehFun
Actually i fixed it quite easily. Just set PCI as default Video Card slot in BIOS (so that you boot directly with the second card) and delete all the kexts for that brand (in my case AMD). Now the card is not seen/initialized by OSX and i can use it without a problem in Windows.
