Hey guys, I'm trying to make my first hackintosh (on a custom pc, I'll give specs if needed), and I'm running into a little issue. It occurs at step 3.A.2 in http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-mountain-lion-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners/page__fromsearch__1 when I press enter to boot into OSX. Here's a picture of the error:

For those of you who don't want to try to understand all that pixelated {censored}, I've uploaded the error message to pastebin:

If anyone needs more info, I'd be happy (not really - that hex stuff is long as {censored}) to update it for them. Thanks to all who help out!

Hi and welcome.

Kernel Extensions in backtrace:
 com.apple.driver.AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement

-> You need to install NullCPUPowerManagement.kext from 1.C.2 at 2.C.1

Thanks for the help, but I already had installed it. However, I booted in verbose and got:

ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::registerLPCDriver - failed to locate SMC Driver

I installed FakeSMC and booted with -v -f GraphicsEnabler=No, and now I can get to the gui, but it comes up with "There was a problem installing Mac OS X. Try reinstalling" once I choose my language.

Many thanks for the welcome, by the way!

hello

Will do man, thanks.

Ok, so I can't really give any more detailed info about the issue because there isn't much more to give. When I select that I want to install in english, an error message pops up saying "There was a problem installing Mac OS X", with "Try reinstalling" underneath it. The only button is OK, and if I press that it just puts me in the little psuedo-desktop mode with the textured background and Disk Utility and Terminal and all that stuff.

If it helps, I'll list a few of the little errors that pop up on verbose while I'm booting:

"Failed to load kext com.apple.driver.AudioAUUC"

"SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed"

"Disk1: I/O error."

There's also a bunch of stuff about timing out for five seconds that I didn't quite catch.

I've updated my signature to display my setup.

Oh, and if I press my power button while in the psuedo-desktop-thing, the screen turns white. If I do it again, it turns back to normal. I have to hold power to make it turn off.

Can't really start anything with these errors. Until someone else comes up with a better idea, you might want to try recreating the installer.

Sorry for being a noob, but how would I go about doing that? Do I have to completely start again!?

Just to check: has anyone got any ideas other than starting from scratch? I really don't want to have to do it for the third time. Not that I wouldn't.

hello

what are u using to install the system ? u say u have in verbose io errors

so the media is not good

what method ?

u must try to install by usb method, and delete from the installer ati6000controller

and boot again

-f -v GraphicsEnabler=No

and use only the ati card.. disable in bios for now the onboard graphics.. intel hd 3000

good hack

I'm using the usb method. I'll try disabling the onboard, but doesn't GraphicsEnabler=No do that for me? I'll also try deleting ati6000controller. I assume it's a kext?

hello

ati6000controller.kext in system/library/extensions

boot

-f -v GraphicsEnabler=No

and yes disable in bios the intelhd3000

Well, damn. I can't find anything related to integrated graphics in the BIOS... Sorry for bugging you with questions, but do you have any idea what the option might look like?

Well, that sucks. It seems that I've already turned off iGPU - at least according to this article:

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/298786-30-disabling-p8z68-integrated-graphics-card

I guess it's back to the drawing board, unless the answer lies in "iGPU Memory", "iGPU Multi-Monitor", or "Render Standby"... ugh.

One more thought: make sure you are not using outdated versions of FakeSMC and Chameleon.

You can try Clover instead of Chameleon and see if it behaves differently. I would do this as the last step, as it might be hard to set up in the beginning.
