Neonkoala
Rosetta is built into the operating system. You can't 'download' it as such, it's already there, it may be that its not working due to you having an SSE2 CPU that hasn't had the SSE2 patch applied. Rammjet
Thank´s but the problem is that when i select "open with", rosetta doesnt appear and i cant find it anywere. You don't initiate it with the "Open with..." feature. Above that, in the General box is a checkbox labelled "Open using Rosetta" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28777-rosetta/#findComment-197647 Share on other sites

gwprod12
Well. It first has to be an actual application, not a DMG or other document file. Second, it has to have PPC code. A universal binary shouldnt require rosetta, since it's universal, but it gives you the option of using the PPC code fork to run the application. With a PPC only App, I dont believe there's an option to open with rosetta, because you dont have a choice, you must open with rosetta. Rammjet
Like i said before, it doesn´t appear You have gotten info on a Disk Image, not an application. A DMG is like an ISO - it is a file containing a disk image. When you double-click on the DMG, the image gets mounted on the Desktop. It is basically a virtual hard drive. If you double-click on that virtual hard drive (the one you got info on), it will open a window and show you an iTunes installer PKG inside. Double-click on the installer PKG to install iTunes. So, i read that with rosetta i might be able to install those 2 programs. So, you need the Installer program to run in Rosetta. Go to the Utilities folder and find Installer. Get Info on it and then click the "Open using Rosetta" checkbox. You can find the Utilites folder by starting from the Desktop -> Go menu -> Utilities Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/28777-rosetta/#findComment-197759 Share on other sites

noxdg
You mentioned you were able to install iTunes and iLife, but are you still having problems with installing programs? I'm using JaS 10.4.7 on an AMD system, and any installation would hang opening the package. If you're running JaS OS X on an AMD system, check out this thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...amp;hl=packages Grab the AMD_Enabler.zip. There's instructions a couple posts after the download how to install it. It solves the hanging issue.
