Thx so much 3.14r2 for helping out....

I admit i'm a bit anxious :| , what's the worst scenario if you don't mind me asking?!!

Since a further tuning is needed anyway...i'd rather wait it out until some DSDT guru have a look at it....dont' wanna cause more trouble, cause i'm just getting into fixing small dsdt stuff....

Let me explain; the only reason why i wanted to include that patch is for proper speedstep. i already asked onalpalm from olarilla and he said it's enough to just enable the C&P states in boot.plist and it should take care of that....while i'm happy with that...i get no stepping log from ioreg..which leads me to think that maybe it's not working..and on top of that i have no idea how to check that.

Thx so much again 3.14r2!!! :wink2:

Nothing terrible - kernel panic at max. It won't blow your PC up. :)

By further tuning I mean it's just needs to be cleaned from cosmetic issues. Since it was able to compile, it should be OK. Again warnings and remarks are acceptable, errors are not. So you should try it out and see what happen.

There are DSDT patch for speedstep. I haven't applied the above though... Here is a version with P-states generation added (copy/paste from SSDT).

DSDT_P.rar

Check if P-states are generated via bdmesg (included with Chameleon binaries). If these are generated, then mostlikely Speedstep DOES work. You can try different DSDT version and combinations of Chameleon generation on/off.

3.14r2!

I just applied it and booted up...i can see the following via chameleon wizard's bdmesg window:

Read HFS+ file: [hd(0,2)/Extra/DSDT.aml] 21538 bytes.
ACPI table not found: SSDT.aml
FADT: Restart Fix applied!
FADT: Using custom DSDT!
Found ACPI CPU: CPU0
Found ACPI CPU: CPU1
Found ACPI CPU: CPU2
Found ACPI CPU: CPU3
SSDT with CPU C-States generated successfully
SSDT with CPU P-States generated successfully
RSDT: Added 2 SSDT table(s)
FADT: Restart Fix applied!
FADT: Using custom DSDT!
Added 2 SSDT table(s) into XSDT

By the looks of it, I assume it's loading...right?

Yes, it is loading. You can actually hear if speedstap is working by the saound of CPU fan. If it's maxed alll the time (regardless of the load), then speedstep is not working and vice versa.
