neverheardofit
Okay, so I got ML installed on my computer last night, kind of. I boot up from the USB, ran through the installation and installed ML on my SSD. After the installation I clicked the restart button booted up from the USB and selected the SSD. It shows the Apple boot screen and everything still looks good. Then the Apple logo goes away and I'm left with a gray screen with an arrow. I wait for the rest of the installation to pop up and then the arrow turns into the beach ball and it doesn't stop. I started looking online and it said that my GPU can cause this so I remove my GPU. After I removed it a boot up from the USB select my SSD and the same thing happens so I try reinstalling without my GPU to see if that fixes it. After I reinstalled it, I reboot and tried again. Samething happens. I even tried removing my Wifi Card and Blu-ray Drive and re did everything to see if that worked. Nothing. I'm out of ideas and can't find anything else online. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
iFIRE
first put your hardware in your signature, second boot with -v and post a photo where your system stop, and what do you have installed , a distro or Vanilla install?
neverheardofit
first put your hardware in your signature, second boot with -v and post a photo where your system stop, and what do you have installed , a distro or Vanilla install? I have added my hardware to my signature. I'm at work right now but when I get home I will post a picture of where my system stops. I am not sure if I have a distro or Vanilla installed. I think it would be distro. I just downloaded ML from the App Store then used the ##### method on a USB. This is my first attempt at a hackintosh so I still have a lot to learn Ps. Thank you for your response. Edited March 5, 2013 by neverheardofit
neverheardofit
Okay, I did a verbose boot and here is a picture of the last thing it shows before it goes to the gray screen and I just get the beach ball that never stops. theconnactic
Hi! Start over and use this method: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-mountain-lion-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners/ I had 100% success with it on various machines. Give it a go! Best regards!
neverheardofit
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ng7Yg07-Wl0&feature=youtube_gdata_player There is a video of what it does. Not sure if that helps. I will give the other method a try thank you. I only have one hard drive which is in my computer so I'm assuming I will need to use a friends computer to get what I need for the other method? neverheardofit
Okay, so I followed the setup of the USB and everything work went perfect. Or so it seemed. I may have missed something? But when I try to boot up from USB this is what happens. I did a verbose boot so that you could see the error.

neverheardofit
DSMOS has arrived. Graphics. Boot with -x -v and post screenshots here. Best regards! Okay, I entered that command and took a screen shot of where it stalled. Also, I still have my GPU and WiFi card removed from my system. Am I supposed to wait until the installation is complete or have them in while I install?
theconnactic
Your GPU, is it removed?! That's why it hangs at DSMOS has arrived, lol! Put it back. Then try to boot, first without any flags, second only with -v, third -v GraphicsEnabler=No and least but not last -v GraphicsEnabler=Yes Best regards!
neverheardofit
Haha my bad. I read somewhere when I was trying to do the last method to take out the GPU. So I did all the things you told me and the last one worked! I got to this step with the last method and then when I rebooted that's when it started messing up so wish me luck. PS. Thank you so much for your help!

theconnactic
Boot with -v -x. Post screenshots
neverheardofit
I had to boot -V GraphicsEnabled=Yes for it to do anything when I selected the SSD I installed hackintosh on. So, should I boot -x -v GraphicsEnabled=Yes or just -v -x?
theconnactic
First only -v -x, then -v -x GraphicsEnabler=Y.
neverheardofit
Okay, so -v -x GraphicsEnabled=Yes got me in I just got it set up and now I'm trying to finish what is in the install guide and I can't find the root folder. So I did a little googling and it said that you can open it with terminal so I go to spotlight and try to open terminal and it doesn't find anything. Go to Applications and no terminal there either? Did I do something wrong or do I need to enable something. I went to spotlight settings and everything is checked.
theconnactic
The root "folder" is just your main OSX HDD. Now you must do these four things (in this order): 1) Install the latest Chameleon to your HDD; 2) Open DiskUtility and repair disk permissions; 3) Install the drivers that are still missing; 4) Repair permissions again and reboot. Good luck. Edited March 7, 2013 by theconnactic

neverheardofit
Okay, so everything seems to be working perfect except for the fact that I have no internet. I have tried it both with "Ethernet Built In" turned off and turned on.
