HELP please !!! a friend's notebook drives us crazy !! we used native installation from burned DVD-R on a primary formatted partition (with or without using OS selector wasnt helpfull, still kernel panic at start-up). after we tried a few different custom installation we are a step forward from kernel panic msg to blu desktop appearing but nothing works... just the mouse moving and nothing else. anyone could help me out !!?? the laptop cofiiguration: asus A6J (not sure if is model A or M) chipset intel 945PM T2300(1.66 ghz) core duo ati x1600 512mb HD IDE udma100 waining for your hellp folk !!! Describe what customization you tried, explicitely which patches. tele Posted September 27, 2006 Author Share Posted September 27, 2006 Rammjet --> super thx a lot mate !! we performed a bios update ... and finally booted up... but unluckely after that we installed x1600 support too, thinking it's neede to allow resolution menaging.. :-(( and now cant start-up again !! problem was the screen res is blocked on 1024... is there a way to change the resolution ? we need any soft/driver that allow u to change it ? Rammjet , 2 questions: - is there a way to remove the X1600 driver ? some terminal command or similar...or we need to reinstall ALL again !!?? : - the wireless will work ? or we need that listed "wireless extention" ? {censored}zz.. before adding that x1600 driver the computer started up THX again for helping us !
