You only have to add 7 patches from example to your Clover's config.plist file for Single link width LVDS connection. Example for 1st step: add this combination of patches (for El Cap): 1 + 4 + 7 + 8 + 9 (or 10, or 11, or 12 for LW2 - LW4 variants) + 21 + 22 (LVDS + VGA). If needed, add a legacy for Alternate mode.
