level70steve
I had to make a separate thread so I can create a quick breakdown and progress of each hardware component on this laptop as I am running 10.7.5. I already obtained a copy of Lion. Download: (search on Google/TPB.se, without quotes) "Mac OS X 10.7.5 Lion bootable USB for Intel PCs" Before booting from USB: >> Delete all kexts in S/L/E related to Intel HD Graphics 4000 drivers. (AppleIntelHD* and AppleIntelSNB*) This likely prevents booting into the 10.7.5 installer from USB. I encountered this problem before. >> Delete kernelcache (System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kext.caches/Startup) if problems booting into the Lion installer continue to persist. Component status after post-installation: WLAN: USB - Belkin Basic Wireless Adapter F7D1101v1 Works after installing "WL_349v3_352v3_353_356___Driver_1075_UI_1.7.8" -- Substitute for on-board WLAN that does not work at all. Use Wireless Network Utility to ensure connections. WLAN: Built in - Realtek RTL8188CE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC (v. 10EC, d. 8176) FAIL Sound: High Definition Audio Device (v. 10EC, d. 0269) FAIL -- VoodooHDA and AppleHDA kexts don't seen to even tap into the speakers. Mouse: Trackpad - Synaptics Touchpad (????, d. 0310) FAIL -- I need kexts for this, can anyone plz help?!!! Mouse: USB - PS/2 (Cherry Gentix JM-0300) (v. 192F, p. 0416) Works, even without suspicious PS/2 kexts - the scroll wheel is reversed where down-gesture scrolls up and up-gesture scrolls down, but I can live with that. Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 4000 Works, but more stable only without most video kexts Keyboard Works after installing "SL_PS2_Voodoo" driver Battery (d. 0C0A) FAIL - I need a VoodooBattery kext specifically for 10.7.5 since I keep finding ML kexts... =/ Card Reader Pending test WL_349v3_352v3_353_356___Driver_1075_UI_1.7.8(1).zip 3210-SL_PS2_Voodoo.zip Edited February 27, 2013 by Lejenk Removed references to illegal downloads. level70steve
I waited long enough, moderators. I thought we play by the rules around here?! I guess I'll leave this thread open for anyone that has interest in installating Lion on their Satellite notebook. Since I will be focusing on ML post-installation for a little bit, I'm duplicating this thread. In closing, the only boot flag I type up-front is Graphics Mode. I can't find "org.chameleon.boot.plist" in their bootloader since that got reduced to a DMG.
