i just wanted to say, system profiler does not ALWAYS report information correctly. Sometimes processors that have SSE3 do not register with system profiler. I know this because i have a 3200+ Venice core, which definately supports SSE3, but under sys. profiler it only reports SSE2.

the quick way to find out if your copy of OSX supports SSE3 is to run iTunes 7, as it requires SSE3 to run. if your machine can run this, then SSE3 is present.

a bit long winded, but i got there in the end!

hope this helps any1 who is confused!
